This week we will be exploring Wisconsin's outdoors. Wisconsin is a beautiful place, and we should all be happy to call it home. What are some things that you like to do with your family and friends outdoors in Wisconsin? Lets take a moment to share.
Moving on, how many of you know what the DNR is, or what it stands for?
The DNR stands for the Department of Natural Resources. The DNR's job is to preserve, manage, maintain, and protects our state's natural resources. Did you know that Wisconsin's DNR has it's very own website that helps you explore its outdoors?
Wisconsin DNR Website Link: dnr.wi.gov
There are a lot of really cool things on this website. In Wisconsin, we have several State Parks and recreational parks where you can visit, and this website helps you explore those options.

The DNR website even has a special place for kids to learn and explore, it's called EEK, or Enviornmental Education for Kids!
Here is that link: http://dnr.wi.gov/org/caer/ce/eek/
Eek shares a lot of really cool information, and it also shares a lot of fun activities and ideas that you could do at home. Why don't we take some time to check it out, and see what we can learn. One thing that I learned while exploring was all of Wisconsin's State symbols, like our State bird, State tree, State flower, and more.
Here is the link where I found that information: http://dnr.wi.gov/org/caer/ce/eek/nature/state/index.htm
Now that we have all had time to explore the EEK webpage, you may have free-time on some our BGC approved websites. Enjoy the rest of your week, and don't forget to get outdoors!
