With the first full week of 2018 complete, we took some time to reflect on 2017 and the year we had at the Boys & Girls Club of Fort Atkinson. It was another eventful year for the Club. We offered our after school program at all four of the public elementary schools- ending the 2016/2017 school year with 299 registered members. We also offered our wrap around summer program for 11 weeks during the summer months to a record 132 Club members! Our staff continues to grow and expand as our programs develop. Our Club staff & volunteers worked countless hours to ensure our Club sites are operating and every member who enters our doors feels part of our BGC family.
We played a lot of games, did a lot of projects, tried new things, explored new places, met new people, welcomed new staff and said "see you later" to others. We hosted our Wings & Wheels Fly-In Breakfast and raced our rubber ducks for the Duck Race. We welcomed 3 new board members and our Board went through Strategic Planning to carry our mission, vision and values forward. Most notably, we started a Junior Youth of the Year Competition and hosted a breakfast to celebrate 8 of our amazing members.
We can continue to do all of these great things because of the amazing support of our community. We are always amazed by our donors dedication to youth and our efforts to ensure that every kid & staff who enter our doors- have what it takes.
2018 is looking to be another influential year for our organization. We have lots of fresh ideas to ensure we can provide the best Club Experience to the hundreds of members we serve throughout the year. We will be looking at new program structure & activities, revamping our summer program, improving our staff training models and working to better serve more kids in the community. We will also be kicking off a new event in October- Harvest for the Club- a master chef style event that will feature local food and fair.
Enjoy our 2017 Year in Pictures!
